Questions about AI phone answering, answered plainly
How it sounds, what it connects to, what happens when a call goes wrong, and what it costs. If yours isn't here, ask the agent directly.
How it sounds
Will it sound robotic?
Talk to it and hear for yourself. It uses a natural, human-sounding voice, and we put a live demo on our homepage, by phone or right in your browser, because a live conversation tells you more than any demo video could.
Will my callers know it isn't a person?
Some will. The aim isn't to fool anyone — it's that the caller gets their appointment booked without having to fight anything to get there. We can have it identify itself up front if you'd rather; some businesses prefer that, and it costs nothing.
What if the caller asks something it doesn't know?
It says so and hands off — takes a message, offers a callback, or transfers to you if the call warrants it. Building that path well is harder than building the conversation that goes to plan, and it's the part most demos skip.
Setup and phone numbers
How fast can I be live?
Most businesses are live within 3 business days of sending us their details. The setup itself takes about a day. The rest is time to fill any gaps and get your agent sounding like your business, not a generic bot.
Do I need to change my phone number?
Not at all. You keep your existing number and forward it to a number we give you. Forward all calls, or only the ones you miss or can't answer, if your phone provider supports it. If you have a business phone system with scheduling, you can also route calls by time of day.
What does the setup fee cover?
Mapping the calls you actually get, writing the logic, and testing it against the ways calls go wrong. It's charged once, and it's the part that determines whether the monthly fee is worth paying.
What happens if I want to turn it off?
You remove the call forwarding and calls ring where they rang before. There's no long-term contract and nothing to unwind on your side.
What it connects to
Which calendars does it work with?
Google Calendar, Calendly and Cal.com are supported directly. It reads live availability and writes the appointment during the call, so two callers can't be given the same slot.
Can it write to my CRM?
Yes, on the Growth plan and above — HubSpot and Salesforce are the common ones. If you use something else, tell us on the demo and we'll say honestly whether it's straightforward.
Does it handle WhatsApp and Instagram?
Yes, on Growth and above. It answers the message, works out what the person needs, and routes anything that should reach a human to a human.
Compliance and data
Does it call people?
No. Everything Brimeo does responds to someone who contacted you first — a call you missed, a booking already made, a visit that already happened. Automated outbound contact carries consent rules under the TCPA that we're not going to work around, so we don't sell it.
Is my data secure?
We never use your calls to train AI models. Recordings and transcripts are stored against your account only, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. For the full details, read our Privacy Policy.
Do I need to tell callers they're being recorded?
It depends on your state — some require all-party consent. We'll configure a recording notice at the start of the call where that applies. This isn't legal advice; check your own obligations.
Pricing and plans
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $297/month plus a $397 one-time setup fee (waived until December 31, 2026), and run to $997/month for multi-location operations. Full comparison is on the pricing page.
Are there per-minute charges?
No. Plans include a monthly call allowance and the price is flat. Scale includes unlimited calls.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract. Monthly plans are month to month. Annual plans are paid upfront for 12 months at a discount; you can cancel anytime to stop the next renewal, and refunds follow our annual refund policy.
